It’s A Beautiful Day

My prayer today is that we take time out of the rat race to appreciate all the things we casually pass by each day. I pray that we take a few extra minutes when we are kissing our loved ones goodbye and sending them off for the day. I pray that we leave that pile of dishes sitting in the sink and use that extra time to sit and listen to a friend. I pray that we play hookie from work, sign our kids out of school for a “doctor’s appointment” then sneak off to the park to play. I pray that we move the obstacles in our lives that steal time away from what truly matters. I pray that each of us stop today and spend time with our heavenly Father, giving Him thanks for the time we still have and pinky swear with Him that we won’t waste another second of His precious gift. There is no promise of tomorrow.

What if today was your last? Are you spending it the way you would want to?

What if it was your last lunch date with a friend.
Your last kiss goodbye.
Your last time to drop the kids off at school.
Your last time to sit quietly and sip your coffee.
Your last time to clock in at work.
Your last time to chit chat in the break room.
Your last time to assist in homework or that school project.
Your last time to sit down for dinner with your family.
Your last time to snuggle your baby.

What if today was your last? Are you spending it the way you would want to?
